Drawing Series By C

The other night when my daughter was supposed to be sleeping she came out of her bedroom and showed me all these amazing drawings.  I scolded her,  but then I just was so enamored by these drawings that it didn't really matter if she was suppose to be sleeping.  WHAT WOULD YOU DO? I'm an art teacher and I am just so proud whenever she is drawing! I just wanted to share these fabulous animal drawings done in metallic, green, purple, and black markers (and blue ink pen) by C. Let me know what you think. I admit this happens a lot....maybe she just knows I don't mind if she stays up drawing?

Duck
Caterpillar
Turtle

Beetle

Dog

Do you let your kids draw (or anything else) when they should be sleeping?

  1. That are fantastic drawings. My daughter doesn't draw when she is supposed to be sleeping but she does tell me all about which animals she played with when she was supposed to be sleeping.

  2. This is wonderful. My daughter is known to stay up late reading unless I very firmly turn off the light.

    1. Thanks Mermaid. Thanks for sharing. The only time she isn't up is when she has had an exhausting day. After all this input here and on Facebook I will set some guidelines about drawing and reading and see how it goes. C is such an active girl...she definitely needs a winding down time this just happens to be a very creative time.

  5. Gorgeous - I'm just the same. my kids know now that the can get away with almost anything, as long as they produce a beautiful drawing at some point in the proceedings.

  6. Love the drawings. I love it when kids use variety of colors to make everything so colorful. So much better than real world. The duck is my favorite!
