Blue Glue Batiks By My High School Students

Just wanted to share some of my High School Students work.  These are Blue Glue Batiks. I did this same process with my daughter when she was 5.  This process can be done with pre-school all the way to adults. More details on how to make a Glue Batik can be found here (click on the link): Blue Glue Batiks.

  1. Love the symmetrical designs and limited color palette! Did the create their designs on paper first and then transfer them? I'd love to try this version of batik sometime.

    1. Yes Mary they did their designs on paper first. The limited color palette definitely helps to make them a success. If I did this again we would make them larger. Right now I am working with limited supplies.

  3. Is it possible to wash the fabric after painting it in such way? I mean: can you paint on your t-shirts, or dresses?
    It looks incredible!

    1. Yes, you can wash them. We used acrylic paint, but you could use fabric paint most definitely. It is a resist technique.
