Spin Art Christmas Tree Cards

We've been making Christmas cards!  Have you sent out your Christmas cards or do you even send them? There are just too many things to do for the Holiday Season! Is anyone ever done with everything??? I enjoy sending Christmas cards,  but agree that it can be just another added thing that we all think we must do! (Kudos to those who just agree to not send them!)  Cassie and I spent a morning creating these cards using our spin art scraps from our Spin Art Christmas Trees from last week!

Here are all the scraps that we had left....I knew that we could use them for something!!!

So basically we cut out triangle shapes from the scraps and you could use any kind of paper because I'm sure you all don't just have spin art scraps on hand! (but you might!)

Then we added a brown construction paper tree trunk an white cotton for snow!

Then we used q-tips and paint for the light and ornaments and a star sticker for the top! Simple and sweet!

Here is another. You can cut out all different types of triangular shapes: tall , wide, curvy, etc.

Here are a bunch we did!

I have a feeling we'll be making more Christmas cards!

What do you think?

What is your take on sending Christmas Cards???

Spin Art Christmas Trees

We Love Spin Art here and we have done quite a few posts on it! Here is another one to add to our collection: Spin Art Christmas Trees!  Here are some of our beauties.  I like the whimsical look of them!  Find out how we made them below.

We used a salad spinner for our spin art this time!  We cut a paper plate to fit our spinner first and squirted paint in shades of green, yellow, blue, gold, and white.  Then we put on the lid and let it spin.

The only disadvantage to using a salad spinner is that you can't see the art being created, but it can create a larger finished project.  So the salad spinner was perfect for this project.

Here are our Beautiful Results:

After letting the spin art dry we cut a circle in half like this.

Then to create all the parts of the tree,  we made half circles successively smaller like this.  The large pieces for the bottom, and smallest for the top.  We shaped these pieces into cone shapes and use staples to hold the cones.

Here are our undecorated trees. Very cute too!  I didn't glue the cones together, but you could!

I just LOVE these little trees!  We used sequin and spangleswith white glue to decorate our trees!

These trees make me so Happy!!!! I hope they make you happy too!

Happy Holidays!!!

Spin Art Easter Eggs

We had a lot of fun making spin art again! Everyone Loves Spin Art and I'm sure we will revisit this activity again and again! Last time we created Valentine hearts from our spin art and this time Easter Eggs.  Check out my Valentine Spin Art Tutorial here.  I decided to make some garland with our spin art too:

We used our Melissa and Doug Spin Art Machine which was a Christmas gift of mine! (Not Cassie's) It is a great little machine, but uses only 4x4 inch pieces of paper.  It would be neat to try out all the  different Spin Art machines and see which one is the best!!!! Do you have a favorite?

We used the paint that came with the machine and some watered down liquid acrylic paint. We had a wide variety to choose from.

We tried adding paint while it was spinning. Fun! It is always amazing to watch and the best part is that it is different every time!

We tried adding paint first and then spinning too! Both ways are fun!

Here are our Spin Art masterpieces and then some! Aren't they FANTASTIC??

To make them into Easter Eggs, simply trace or draw an egg shape over your Spin Art like this and cut them out:

For Easter Egg Garland attach your eggs to yarn, string, or ribbon. We used tape on the back to attach the eggs to the yarn. They make a Gorgeous Easter decoration!  Very unique too! You could also just attach each egg with a single string for an Easter Tree. I'm sure there are many possibilities!

Tutorial On POP ARTish Spin Art Valentine Cards

I thought I would create a detailed tutorial of my posts on POP ARTish Spin Art Valentine Cards. So here it is:

Here is a finished product!

First you need a spin art machine! Mine is a Melissa & Doug Swirl 'n Spin Art Machine
It comes with 4x4 glossy cardstock that I used
for paper.

Now start swirling around your paint! I used
watered down Acrylic Delta Ceramacoat paint.

Metallic colors look cool!

Now remove and you have an awesome Spin Art!

Trace a heart shape.  So not do a folded cut heart or
it will ruin your Spin Art! It is almost better to trace
on the back so there is no line showing.

Now cut out the heart and save both pieces. You may
be able to use the negative heart for a project too!

Use glue stick to glue on a 4x5.5" card.

Now just add some Metallic Prang Markers around
the heart and add a message inside the card!

They are very POP ARTish!
BEAUTIFUL Valentines or for any occasion to
celebrate LOVE!

POP ARTish Spin Art Heart Valentine Cards!!

Finally finished some of my Spin Art Heart Valentine cards!!  First,  I traced a heart on the back of all the spin art creations and cut them out.  Then,  I glued them on the front of a white card stock card.  Lastly, I decorated around the hearts with Prang Metallic Markers.  I think they look very POP ARTish! I will be sending these out to family.  Every year I create a different valentine card that is like no other! I always have a lot of fun!

Spin Art

This is my first post and I'm trying this for fun.  I follow a lot of blogs and enjoy them so I would like others to enjoy too! Today my daughter and I created spin art creations with our Melissa and Doug Spin Art  set.  We used our own Valentine colors because I plan for these to become Valentines! We used Acrylic craft paint that has been watered down slightly.  You don't want thick paint or it will not spread during the spinning!
